All lamps aligned, all images and text plates hung perfectly at their place and the both of us looked at each other wordlessly: It was done! The next evening the opening would take place \u2026<\/p>\n<p>To cut a long story short, our exhibition became a great success giving the Stadtmuseum Schleswig a new record attendance. Much more than 5.000 visitors attended in the course of the exhibition\u2019s duration, the print media related across the country and the NDR TV station broadcasted a very nice feature about us and our project.<\/p>\n<p>But it was the most beautiful experience to listen to the personal comments of the visitors when guiding a tour through our exhibition: statements like \u201cyou really managed to transport the feelings when being in the north\u201d or \u201cyour images awake such a longing for the north\u201d gave us the good feeling that our efforts in the run-up had been worth it. For sure the effect of an exhibition is quite different from that of a coffee-table book. And for us, it had always been important to grasp the essence of the Nordic landscapes and to convey a feeling for their &#8220;soul&#8221;. How nice to see we have succeeded with that in our first exhibition &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>In the course of time, we have received many inquiries as to whether LYS \u2013 Eine Hommage an das Licht des Nordens would also be shown further south in Germany. And we have good news for the fans of the High Latitudes in Central and Southern Germany: from 16 February to 07 April 2019 our exhibition (even extended by several exhibits) will be on display at the St\u00e4dtische Galerie Iserlohn, and from 18 May to 14 July 2019 at the Naturkundemuseum Reutlingen. Dezember 2017, 18 Uhr, Stille in den R\u00e4umen des Stadtmuseums Schleswig. Alle Lampen waren ausgerichtet, Bilder und Texttafeln hingen perfekt an ihrem Platz, und wir beide schauten uns wortlos an: Es war vollbracht! Am n\u00e4chsten Abend w\u00fcrde die Vernissage stattfinden \u2026<\/p><p>Um es gleich zu sagen, unsere Ausstellung wurde ein voller Erfolg und bescherte dem Stadtmuseum Schleswig einen neuen Besucher-Rekord! Weit \u00fcber 5.000 Besucher kamen im Ausstellungszeitraum, die Medien berichteten landesweit.<\/p><p>Aber das Sch\u00f6nste waren doch die pers\u00f6nlichen Kommentare der Besucher w\u00e4hrend unserer F\u00fchrungen: S\u00e4tze wie \u201eIhr habt es geschafft, genau das Gef\u00fchl zu transportieren, das man im Norden empfindet.\u201c oder \u201eEure Bilder wecken so eine Sehnsucht nach dem Norden.\u201c waren es, die uns zeigten, dass sich die vielen Gedanken, die wir uns im Vorfeld gemacht haben, gelohnt hatten. Eine Ausstellung funktioniert in ihrer Wirkung eben ganz anders als ein Bildband. Und f\u00fcr uns war es nun einmal immer wichtig gewesen, die Essenz der nordischen Landschaften zu erfassen und ein Gef\u00fchl f\u00fcr ihre \u201eSeele\u201c zu vermitteln. Wie sch\u00f6n, dass uns das mit unserer ersten Ausstellung gelungen ist \u2026<\/p><p>Wir haben im Laufe der Zeit viele Anfragen bekommen, ob LYS \u2013 Eine Hommage an das Licht des Nordens auch einmal weiter im S\u00fcden gezeigt w\u00fcrde. Und wir haben gute Nachrichten f\u00fcr die Fans der Hohen Breitengrade in Mittel- und S\u00fcddeutschland: Vom 16. Februar bis 07. April 2019 h\u00e4ngt unsere Ausstellung (sogar noch um einige Exponate erweitert) in der St\u00e4dtischen Galerie Iserlohn, und vom 18. Mai bis 14. Juli 2019 im Naturkundemuseum Reutlingen.
